Overview
Bakonawa Lake is part of the Port Malaya instances.
Walkthrough
- Talk to Instance Manager in any town to generate and enter the instance.
- Once your party is ready talk to Taho to spawn Bakonawa.
- 1st Phase:
- Bakonawa will appear inside the lake, Meteor Storm and Storm Gust will be constantly casted at everyone near the lake, it's advised to bring a Sorcerer to use Land Protector or bring lots of Elemental Resistance and Frozen Immunity.
- You can use a
Shining Defense Scroll to get 200 MDEF which grants you more magic resistance and Frozen Immunity. - It's hard to hit Bakonawa with small ranged attacks or basic attacks, so skills with a big cast range or long ranged basic attack classes such as Ranger and Rebel are advised.
- There's a 10 minutes time limit to this phase.*
- 2nd Phase:
- Once the Bakonawa in the 1st phase is defeated you'll need to defeat 2 Gongs and 2 Caldrons, there's 1 Gong and 1 Caldron on each side of the lake, at the lower level of the hills. Be careful as the magic skills spam will not stop.
- The Gongs and Caldrons are plant type monster, so they only take 1 damage per hit and have 200 hp each, 193 ASPD is recommended to kill them fast.
- If you're a long ranged class you can kill them from the upper level of the hill where there's less risk of being hit by the magic attacks.
- There's a 5 minutes time limit to this phase.*
- 3rd Phase:
- After killing the Gongs and Caldrons Bakonawa will come back to the lake and you need to defeat him again. Be careful as the magic skills spam will not stop.
- On this phase, Bakonawa will summon waves of his puppets every 2 minutes.
- There's a 10 minutes time limit to this phase.*
- After defeating Bakonawa on the 3rd Phase Bakonawa's Treasure will appear, the treasure has all the loot including Bakonawa's card. Be careful as the stream of Meteors and Storm Gust will not stop
- * If you lose to the timer on any of the phases while the instance is still active, you can talk to Taho again at the beginning to restart from phase 1.
