Refinement System
How to ?
Double clicking any refinement material ( Elunium ,
Oridecon ,
Bradium ,
Carnium , etc.) from your character inventory will bring up the refinement UI
Drag the desired item to be refined into the Refinement UI and select the material's you wish to use.
The UI will tell you the percentage chance of success.
You can select to use a catalyst Blacksmith Blessing.
[ The catalyst protects your item from the failure effect of refining ]
It's consumed regardless of success or failure.
When you're ready, click Start.

Safe Certificates
You can use certain Certificates such as +7 / +8 / +9 or other certificates to instantly refine from +0 or any other refinement by double clicking it in your inventory.
You can also use the Refine Master npc, which can be found at @go 0, it's the right building.

Level 2 Equipment refinement bonus
Every refinement level increases DEF by 120% of the existing refinement DEF bonus
Every refinement levels increases RES and MRES by 2
Level 5 Weapon refinement bonus
Every refinement level increases ATK and MATK by 8
Every refinement levels increases P.ATK and S.MATK by 2
level 5 Weapons and Level 2 Equipment refinement costs:
Up to level 10 it costs 50,000z per refinement attempt
From level 10 to 20 it costs 100,000z per refinement attempt

At the Refiner Building Fortessa 169,192
Dietrich lets you make the new ores.
Grade Enchanter lets you make grading materials.

Weapon and Equipment Grades
At the Refiner Building Fortessa 169,192 Grade Enchanter is able to make the grading materials for you and will attempt to grade your equipment.
Weapon and Equipment Grades are a new system that works in conjunction with the Refinement System.
All equipment pieces start out without any grade.
Requirement:
Weapon with Weapon Lvl 5
Equipment with Armor Lvl 2
Atleast +11 Refinement level
Bonus:
Some items have additional effects based on the grade of the item.
Note:
On successful grading to a higher grade all refinement is reset to 0.

Refining Guide
Regular Equipment
From 0-10
- Start off with a
Refine Ticket of your choice. The easiest to get is the +7 ticket, with +8 being harder to get, and +9 being extremely rare (see here).
- After using the refine ticket, it is recommended to use HD ores to refine to +9 or 10. If you fail, your equipment will go down in refine (+7 become +6). And if the refine fall under 7, use refine ticket to bring it back up (+6 and below can't be refined with HD ores).
- Alternatively, if you want to go with a more expensive but low effort method, you can use Enriched Ores along with
Blacksmith Blessing to get higher success chance at refining and no break or downgrade if fail. But because these Enriched Ores CAN BREAK THE EQUIPMENT, remember to make sure you have bsb (blacksmith blessing) selected.
From 10 onwards
Starting at +10, HD ores are the best resource available. HD ores are always safe, they will never break the equipment, but will instead reduce the refine rate by 1 and will not go below +10. If used with a bsb however, they will no longer reduce the refine rate. You do not need to use a bsb, they can be used to get to +14, but the cost is generally too high.
- Note: Weapons have a 100% success chance to get to +11
Shadow Gear
There are only 2 viable options to refine shadow gears that are difficult to obtain: Shadow Refine Hammer which will result in a random refine on the shadow gear from 1~10 with 10 being extremely rare, or
+9 Shadow Hammer which will bring your shadow gear of choice to +9. You can then use
Blacksmith Blessing and enriched ores to get the gear to +10. If the shadow gear you are refining can be easily farmed, you can use normal ores to try to get the gear to +7 before using the bsb.
Level 5 Weapon and Level 2 Armor Refine
Before +10 there are 2 options available:
Enriched Etheredecon /
Enriched Etherenium
Enriched offers a higher chance than normal ores. Do note that before +10 your weapon/armor can not break. Blacksmith blessing at this range will prevent the gear from going down a refine grade when the refinement fails.
After +10 you now have to use the following ores:
HD Etheredecon /
HD Etherenium
The HD ores will offer a higher success chance than the normal ones, and does not guarantee the safety of the item. At this point using a blacksmith's blessing is mandatory as the weapon will be destroyed upon failure irregardless of the ore used.
